Hey Bill, We Don't Like Vista!

We really, really dont.

This is site dedicated to providing consumers with information about where they can get new computers that DONT have Vista on them. It is our view that consumers do not/will not like Vista and do not want it force fed to them. This site gives consumers the opportunity to vote with their money. 'We Vote for XP!" By listing vendors who are providing new computers with other options, we hope to reward them with increased business.

Windows Vista is the latest operating system made by Microsoft succeeding Windows XP. While Microsoft originally intended to discontinue XP on January 30th, 2008, then decided to extend that to June 30th, 2008.

By the time Vista boots up on a 1 gigabyte machine, it has 800 megabytes of memory, leaving very little for us and our programs!

The UAC (User Account Control), while from a system administrator's point of view is a nice idea, it is quirky and poorly implemented making itself worse the the problem it is intended to solve.

The file system is very, very slow. copying files take much longer then it used to.

The operating system, in general, performs much slower then it's XP predecessor. Considering the additional resources it is consuming, one would have expected it to perform faster, but that is definitely not the case.

Vista Drivers for many peripherals are not available yet.

Many applications have compatibility issues with Vista, meaning you either have to do without that application, or if your are lucky and one is available, pay for an upgrade.
