Let's not forget about Apple. While Apple has always been a favorite of many users who don't want to deal with the intricacies of computers, it has been gaining popularity among technical users as well. It is a stable operating system, that now runs on Intel, and it is not the number one favorite target of virus authors. So, Apple doesn't have to cripple itself in effort to protect itself. By the way, I have always been a PC guy from the start. But I think Microsoft really messed up in Vista. So, for me, it's time to give Apple an honest look and see what it can do.
- It is built upon the Unix operating system, but still has the same user friendly interface that the users love so much.
- It is secure out-of-the-box starting with minimal amount of services running. Things like file sharing are off by default.
- All that Media management that Microsoft built into Vista -- It's already in Mac
- Video Chat -- Built in
- Performance! Everything I've read says that their new operating system, Leopard, is faster then it's predecessors. Let me see Microsoft do that!
You can get into a Mac mini starting around $600, iMac starts around $1,200, and MacBook starts around $1,100. So the prices are reasonable. Click Here to Visit the Apple Store
